“Choeur International et Ensemble Instrumental de Kigali (C.I.E.I.K)” is a musical, voluntary, and non-political organization; any person can become a member without discrimination based on sex, origin, race, and belief.
It was founded in 2006 and granted its legal status in 2008 by Ministerial order No 26/11 of 11/02/2008. CIEIK aims in general to promote the music in Rwanda and is especially committed to:
• Raise up the level of different styles of songs in Rwanda, starting from Rwandan traditional music to Rwandan modern and international music;
• Promote musical talents of members in singing and using modern instruments;
• Give to the Rwandan public the repertoire of songs of different times from different countries;
• Teach the music to children at all school levels;
• Organize high-class concerts;
• Promote social works;
• Encourage cooperation between the Rwandan musical groups and the foreign musical groups with the purpose of promoting the music in Rwanda.
